“In a world that demonizes non-conformity, I found the purest spiritual connection in celebrating my otherness.”
Bear, “Brilliant Imperfection” by Eli Claire
Owning Our Otherness is a yoga, meditation, sound healing, breathwork and mindfulness community created by Jenny Wigham (she/her). My goal as an instructor/facilitator is to make the principles and practices of yoga, meditation, mindfulness, sound healing and body-connected breathwork accessible to every body type and demographic. To create a safe and inclusive environment for self exploration.
To debunk popular beliefs that one can’t do yoga because they aren’t flexible enough, strong enough, patient enough, rich enough, don’t have enough time or are just too awkward.
To help people build a healthy relationship with their body, to become aware of the noise the mind/ego can create, to hold a comfortable space for students to allow themselves to feel either emotions, and explore their internal environments towards making peace with what they discover there.
To do my part to use my proximity to privilege and power to help create sustainable change towards equality for all living beings. And support others in their own social justice journeys. To recognize the philosophies of yoga direct us towards and support the need for social justice work.
To help us realize we're whole just as we are. It's our defense mechanisms, holding patterns, limiting beliefs, embodied traumas and buying into the false stories we allow society and ourselves to impose that need to be let go so that our true light can shine. To help us all be better at being human, by celebrating our sameness and by Own Our Otherness.

Jenny is a Trauma-Informed Body-Connected Breathwork facilitator. Whether you’re seeking deep personal insight, emotional release, or simply a unique and powerful experience, this class offers the tools and guidance to support your inner exploration. This offering integrates the power of breathwork with guided processes to support your journey towards self-discovery, energetic release, growth and healing.
What to Expect:
Introduction to Breathwork: We will begin with an overview of Breathwork, a dynamic and experiential practice that uses accelerated breathing techniques combined with energizing music to possibly access altered states of consciousness and facilitate personal transformation.
Guided Activating Breathwork Session: A structured breathwork session is an immersive practice that may help you unlock deep-seated emotions, connect with your inner self, and explore the boundaries of your consciousness.
Relaxation and Reflection: Following the activating breath we will calm the nervous system down with deep relaxing breathing to help you ground and reflect on your experience. This calming phase is designed to help you integrate whatever came up and maintain a sense of inner peace.
Facilitated Integration: After the breathwork session, support for integration will be offered in the moment and well as support for the days/weeks to come after your experience.
There are some contraindication involved with Breathwork including acute/chronic respiratory issues, pregnancy and history of seizures. Please reach out to me with any questions and consult with your Doctor to see if Breathwork is ok for you.

Sound baths are a full body listening experience. We open with a brief overview of the science of sound and what to expect. Then we settle in with a grounding meditation which leads us into the sound bath. There, you get to sit back, relax, and open yourself up to receive the healing powers of frequency and vibration. I will play a variety of instruments including crystal sound bowls, gongs, drums, rattles, chimes and tuning forks. The hardest part is showing up!
Bring a mat, blankets, pillows and dress comfy. Eye masks are available for use. Feel bring anything else to create a cozy space for yourself.
No experience necessary. Kids are welcome to come if accompanied by an adult, as long as they can respect the experience of others and if needs be, the adult is willing to leave the sound bath if the kid become disruptive.
